Brackets for Good March Madness Fundraiser Starts March 3!

CAC’s invovement in this year’s Brackets for Good fundraiser that occurs simultaneously with the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament(also known as March Madness) will begin on Friday, March 3rd. Since 2011, the online, bracket-style fundraising tournaments in philanthropic communities around the United States have raised nearly $3 million dollars for fellow 501(c)3 organizations. Enjoy the games and thank you for your support!

A “Road to Afro Roots” concert featuring the Antilles Music Ensemble at the North Beach Bandshell, Wednesday, March 22, 6 to 10 p.m. This event coincides with the monthly Food Trucks & Music Night presented by the City of Miami Beach. Show is free and all ages are welcome.

COMING APRIL 7 & 22: Two nights of Afro Roots Fest, because one just wasn’t enough! Both parts of the festival will happen at the North Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33141), the first being Friday, April 7. That night Salif Keita, who is known as the “Golden Voice of Africa” will headline and local Cuban folklore masters Cortadito will open the evening. Get tickets online here.

Following this up on Saturday, April 22 is Vieux Farka Toure (AKA the “Jimi Hendrix of the Sahara”), along with support acts Sinkane (Sudanese jazz / funk / rock), and Symbi Roots, the all-female Haitian rara band, who are making their U.S. debut. This event is being held in collaboration with the Rhythm Foundation on Day Two of their 2017 TransAtlantic Festival. Tickets for this event are available online here.
