To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the festival, Community Arts and Culture will present the Sun Ra Arkestra, musical torch-bearers for the late, great big-band keyboard innovator. The Arkestra carry on the traditions set by the cosmic philosopher born Herman Poole Blount, complete with full costumes and the songbook from Saturn. Special guest: Morikeba Kouyate. Afro Roots Islamorada Concert Announced

Afro Roots Fest is coming to Islamorada Saturday, April 28, 2018. The Morada Bay Arts & Cultural District (151 Morada Way, Islamorada, FL 33036) will feature live music, African dance and percussion workshops, a global instrument show and tell program for kids and families, vendors, and more.

The live acts include Nag ChampayonsCortadito and Grupo Barrio Abajo. Suggested donation is $10; all-ages welcome. Made possible by the support of the Florida Keys Tourism Development Council,  Keys ICE (Islamorada Community Entertainment), the Morada Way Arts Cultural District, and the Florida Keys Brewing Company.

Afro Roots Fest Key West
